Congratulations to Gianni Ross, Burr Ridge, Ill., who defeated Noah Makarome in the finals of the 11th annual NJT USA National Masters.  The event concluded on Sunday, September 18, at the Evert Tennis Academy in Boca Raton, Florida. 
 
The NJT International Masters features the best junior players in the world from 33 countries and will be played December 7-14 at the Club Med Sandpiper in Port St. Lucie, Florida.  Current tennis stars who have won or participated in the NJT International Masters include: Rafael Nadal, Tomas Berdych, Robin Soderling, Sahar Peer and Juan Martin Del Potro.
 
 
 
2011 Results 
B12’s         Gianni Ross (4) from USTA Midwest defeated Noah Makarome (2) from USTA Florida 6-4, 6-1. 
B14’s         Stefan Kozlov (3) from USTA Florida defeated Eduardo Nava from USTA Socal, 6-3, 6-3. 
G12’s         Ryan Peus (2) from USTA Socal defeated Micaela Gordon (1) from Norcal 3-6, 6-3, 6-2. 
G14’s         Kenadi Hance from USTA Socal defeated Ally Miller-Krasilnikov from USTA Florida 7-5,6-3.  

This three day-long event brought sixty-seven of the top 12 and 14 year old boys and girls together to compete for the right to represent the USA at the NJT International Masters.  Players earned entry by winning the NJT Qualifying tournament in their USTA Section.  Nike pays for each player’s airfare and room and board at the event. 

In addition to earning a spot on the USA NJT International Masters Team, the winners received a complimentary one week stay at the Evert Academy.  Runner-ups received an autographed item from Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Serena Williams or Maria Sharapova.  All participants received a pair of Nike shoes and a welcome bag with items from Prince and the Evert Academy. 

The Southern California team of Ryan Pesu G12’s , Kenadi Hance G14’s,  Ryan Seggerman B12’s, Eduardo Nava B14’s and coach Eric Kortland won the team award with two winners and a 2nd place finish.  

The Sportsmanship award went to Catalin Mateas from USTA New England and Sidney Riley from USTA Texas.   Winners received one week of training at the Evert Academy. 

Players were treated to an exhibition match by Madison Keys.  Madison competed and won the NJT USA National Masters in the G12’s in 2007 and represented the USA at the NJT International Masters in Torino, Italy.
