The USTA Tennis On Campus Midwest Championship was held from February 17-19. Campus club teams from across the Midwest competed for the opportunity to advance to the USTA Tennis On Campus National Championship which will be held in Cary, North Carolina from April 12-14, 2012.
This year marks the largest event yet for the USTA Tennis On Campus Midwest Championship, with a total of 30 teams participating. K3 Tennis is the tennis ball sponsor and donated tennis balls for the event. The following top teams earned a bid to compete at the USTA Tennis On Campus National Championship.
1st: Wisconsin
2nd: Michigan State
3rd: Marquette
4th: University of Cincinnati
5th: Purdue University
Sportsmanship Award Winner: Indiana University (6th)
2012 Midwest Club Team of the Year: University of Illinois (11th)

Wisconsin will receive $1100 to offset costs associated with the National Campus Championship, Michigan State will receive $800, Marquette will receive $500, and University of Cincinnati will receive $350. Indiana University will also receive a $350 stipend award to offset their costs associated with travel to the National Campus Championship.
Congratulations to Matt Ship, University of Wisconsin Club President, who received the Club Team Leader of the Year award. Matt will travel with his Wisconsin team to the National Championship and be in the running for the National Club Leader of the Year.
