Beginner/Instructional Programs

O.K., you've tried tennis and discovered you like the sport. Hey, we're not surprised! We're pretty partial to it ourselves.  But your serve seems to end a lot more points than it begins, your volleys seem to feel most at home in the bottom of the net, and when you hear other players talking about topspin, it makes your head spin.  So where do you go to make your basics better?

You enroll in a program such as USTA Tennis 1-2-3, a low-cost, introductory instructional program for players of all ages.  Beginner programs offers a series of lessons designed to teach the basics of the game quickly and easily in a fun, active and encouraging group environment. You'll work on strokes, discuss strategy and focus on mastering the basics of the game while meeting new friends and potential playing partners. After the initial program session, you may opt for a follow-up series of more sessions of supervised play.

After that, who knows…the US Open?  To find a facility that offers a program such as USTA Tennis 1-2-3 adult beginner group lessons visit www.tenniswelcomecenter.com and enter your zip code to find a location.  Please note some facilities refer to their beginner lessons as USTA Tennis 1-2-3, while other facilities call their introductory programs by other names.  However, they have group lessons which follow similar progressions whether the program is called USTA Tennis 1-2-3 or another name.  Also, feel free to contact Diane Ansay with questions at 317-577-5130 ext. 229, or by e-mail at diane@midwest.usta.com.
